ListIt is a tool used to create playlists that you can save as a simple text file. Creating a playlist is as easy as dragging songs (mp3s) from your Finder or Windows Explorer into the ListIt tool. Drag as many songs (mp3s) as you like. You can also drag songs from other DJ based programs to this tool.
After dragging files to the ListIt tool, simply save the playlist as a text file by clicking the save as text file button. Once saved, you can now hand in your playlist to your program director, use it for your mixtape cover, or just to create a list of all the songs on your computer.
ListIt also provides a filtering tool that can be used to filter out certain keywords from your playlist. For example: you may not want the words CLEAN, DIRTY or INSTRUMENTAL in your playlist; by adding filters for these words, ListIt will delete those keywords from the list.
You can also use the filter tool to exclude songs with the certain keyword. For example: remove all songs with the keyword 'instrumental' in the playlist. If you have tagged instrumental versions with 'instrumental' in the mp3, the song will not appear on your list.
ListIt provides you extra features such as adding a track number (to number your songs in the list), excluding back to back duplicate songs (this feature comes in handy when you are importing songs from a DJ base program where you loaded the song on both decks when mixing) and the choice of displaying either artist or title first.
